How do I know which glove size to choose for an infielder?

For young infielders aged 4-5, the 9.5-inch Rawlings Sure Catch glove is ideal. This size offers a shallow pocket and easy closing, perfect for developing quick transfers. While larger sizes exist for older players, this specific glove is optimized for the smallest hands to build confidence and fundamental skills.

What is the difference between Right Hand Throw and Left Hand Throw?

This Rawlings Sure Catch glove is designed for Right Hand Throw (RHT) players. This means the glove fits on the left hand, allowing the player to throw with their dominant right hand. If you throw with your left hand, you would need a Left Hand Throw (LHT) glove.

Is this Rawlings baseball glove suitable for Indian conditions?

Yes, this Rawlings glove is imported from the USA and suitable for Indian conditions. While leather requires care in humid climates, its durable construction and game-ready feel make it a great choice for young players across India. All customs duties and GST are included in the price.

How to choose a baseball glove for a beginner?

For a beginner, prioritize a glove that is game-ready, comfortable, and easy to close. The Rawlings Sure Catch youth glove excels here with its soft leather, 90% factory break-in, and Sure Catch heel cutout. Ensure the size is appropriate for the player's age and hand size, like the 9.5" model for ages 4-5.

How long does it take to break in a Rawlings baseball glove?

The Rawlings Sure Catch youth glove comes with a 90% factory break-in, meaning it's game-ready right out of the box. Minimal additional break-in is required, allowing young players to use it immediately for practice and games without a lengthy conditioning period.

Ideal for Beginners, Skip if Seeking Advanced Features

This glove is perfect for young baseball and tee-ball players aged 4-5 who are just starting out and need an easy-to-close, comfortable, and game-ready glove. It excels at building fundamental catching skills. However, players aged 10+ or those seeking advanced features like specialized pocket depths for specific positions (e.g., shortstop or first base) or premium kip leather construction might find this model too basic. For more advanced youth players, consider larger sizes or models with deeper pockets and stiffer leather for greater control and longevity.

How to use

Inspect and Prepare — Unbox your Rawlings Sure Catch youth glove. Confirm the 9.5" size and Right Hand Throw orientation. The glove is 90% factory broken-in, so no initial oiling or extensive shaping is needed.
Adjust for Fit — Slide your hand into the glove, ensuring your fingers align with the cushioned linings. Adjust the wrist strap using the hook-and-loop closure for a snug, secure fit that prevents slippage during play.
Practice Catching — Use the glove immediately for practice. Focus on closing the glove around the ball using the Sure Catch heel cutout and shallow pocket. Consistent practice will further mold the glove to your hand.

How we compare

Feature	Rawlings Sure Catch	Others
Glove Material & Durability	Soft all-leather shell for durability and pocket shape retention. 90% factory break-in.	Local youth gloves often use synthetic leather or lower-grade cowhide, requiring more break-in and offering less durability. Quality varies significantly by brand.
Ease of Closing & Control	Sure Catch heel cutout and shallow pocket design facilitate easy glove closure for young players.	Many local beginner gloves have stiffer leather and deeper pockets, making them harder for young children to close and control effectively.
Comfort & Fit	Cushioned finger linings and adjustable wrist strap ensure a secure, comfortable fit for growing hands.	Local options may lack cushioned linings or offer less adjustable straps, potentially leading to discomfort during extended play.
Cost per Glove	This 9.5" glove at ₹28,427 offers premium features and durability — ₹28,427 per glove.	Comparable youth gloves in India can range from ₹1,500 to ₹3,500, with varying quality and features.
