• Gather the PRIME-LINE U 10827 lock, included 3-inch hardened screws, and a 1/8 inch drill bit. Ensure your door is a swing-in type. Mark the desired lock position on the door and frame, considering child-safe height if needed. — Prepare for Installation
• Carefully pre-drill pilot holes using the 1/8 inch drill bit at the marked positions on both the door and the frame. Avoid using a drill driver on its maximum torque setting to prevent stripping or breaking the screw heads. — Pre-Drill Holes
• Align the reinforcement lock with the pre-drilled holes on the door. Securely fasten the lock using the provided 3-inch hardened screws. Ensure the lock is firmly attached to the door and the frame for maximum security. — Mount the Lock
• Close the door and engage the spring-loaded lock mechanism. Test its strength by gently pushing the door. Ensure it holds securely and cannot be easily opened from the outside. Check for smooth operation when disengaging. — Test Operation
