How to buy original POTUINOM 6 Inch Sanding Discs in India?

Ensure you purchase from authorized US retailers and authorized brand partners, like CrowCrowCrow, who import directly. These 6-inch, 240-grit silicon carbide discs are factory-sealed and imported per-order, with all customs duties and GST included in the price. They are shipped via ExpressBox tracked delivery.

Will these 6-inch hook and loop discs fit my random orbital sander?

These 6-inch (150mm) discs are designed for random orbital sanders, DA polishers, or angle grinders with a compatible hook and loop backing pad. While they do not have holes for dust extraction, they are a standard size. Always check your sander's backing pad diameter and attachment type to ensure a proper fit.

What is the best grit for finishing wood with these discs?

For fine finishing on wood, 240-grit is an excellent choice. It smooths surfaces effectively after coarser grits have removed material. These POTUINOM discs can be used wet to further reduce dust and achieve a cleaner finish, preparing the wood perfectly for paint, stain, or sealant.

Can I use these discs for wet sanding on metal?

Yes, these silicon carbide discs are ideal for wet sanding on metal. Wet sanding minimizes scratches, prevents the abrasive from clogging with metal dust, and reduces airborne particles, leading to a smoother, cleaner finish on automotive parts or metal fabrication projects.

Are these POTUINOM sanding discs durable for automotive repair?

Yes, the premium silicon carbide abrasive and waterproof paper backing make these discs durable and wear-resisting, suitable for demanding automotive repair projects. They offer outstanding life and superior finishes, especially when used wet to maintain performance.

How do these compare to aluminum oxide discs for metal sanding?

Silicon carbide discs, like these POTUINOM ones, are generally harder and sharper than aluminum oxide. This makes them more effective for sanding tougher materials such as metal, glass, and ceramics, providing faster cutting action and a finer finish compared to aluminum oxide discs.

What is the benefit of wet sanding with these discs?

Wet sanding minimizes scratches, prevents the sandpaper from clogging with dust, removes loose abrasive particles, and reduces airborne dust. This leads to a smoother finish, longer disc life, and a cleaner working environment, especially beneficial when working with metal or automotive surfaces.

Why choose this product

Premium Silicon Carbide for Superior Finishes

POTUINOM 6-inch sanding discs utilize high-quality silicon carbide, a harder and sharper abrasive than aluminum oxide. This makes them exceptionally effective for sanding tougher materials like metal, glass, and ceramics, delivering a smoother, more refined finish. The waterproof paper backing ensures durability, whether you're working wet or dry. Wet sanding further enhances results by reducing dust and preventing disc clogging, leading to cleaner surfaces and extended abrasive life. This imported quality ensures your projects achieve professional-level results, outperforming generic alternatives in demanding applications.

Who Should Use These Discs & Who Should Consider Alternatives

These 240-grit discs are perfect for DIYers and professionals working on metal finishing, automotive body repair, wood preparation, plastic smoothing, drywall touch-ups, glass polishing, and ceramic detailing. If you need a fine grit for finishing or preparing surfaces for paint, these are an excellent choice. However, if your project requires very coarse material removal (e.g., stripping thick paint or rust), consider starting with a lower grit (40-80) disc. For extremely soft woods where deep scratches are a concern, a different abrasive material might be preferred.

How to use

Attach Disc to Sander — Ensure your random orbital sander or polisher has a compatible hook and loop backing pad. Align the disc's hook and loop side with the pad and press firmly to secure it. Check that the disc is centered and firmly attached before operation.
Prepare for Sanding — For wet sanding, lightly dampen the surface to be sanded and the disc itself. If using dry sanding, ensure your sander has dust extraction capabilities. Select the appropriate speed setting on your tool based on the material and desired finish.
Sand the Surface — Apply light, even pressure and move the sander in a consistent pattern (e.g., overlapping strokes or random orbits). Avoid excessive pressure, which can overheat the disc or damage the surface. Work in stages, progressing to finer grits if needed.
Clean and Inspect — After sanding, clean the surface and the disc. If the disc is clogged, a brief wet rinse can often restore its effectiveness. Inspect the finish for smoothness and uniformity. Replace the disc when it becomes worn or ineffective.
