What is the difference between a spacer and a standoff?

A plain spacer is an unthreaded tube used to create a fixed gap between two parts, with a fastener passing through it. A standoff typically has internal or external threads for direct mounting. This kit primarily contains plain spacers and male-female standoffs; check product specs for bore type before ordering.

How do I choose the right spacer size?

Match the inner diameter to your screw or bolt size (e.g., an M2.5 spacer for an M2.5 screw), then pick the length equal to the gap you need to maintain. Confirm the outer diameter fits your mounting footprint and select the material based on strength and environment.

Are these standoffs suitable for use in India?

Yes, these nylon standoffs are well-suited for Indian conditions. Their non-conductive properties prevent short circuits, and their resistance to corrosion is beneficial in humid climates. They are ideal for DIY electronics projects and PCB mounting.

What is the thread size and pitch for these M2.5 components?

The M2.5 components feature a 2.5mm thread diameter with a 0.45mm pitch. This coarse thread design ensures a secure fit for M2.5 screws and nuts, suitable for most electronics assembly needs.

How many of each type of standoff are included?

The kit contains 15 pieces each of 5 types of male-to-female standoffs (6mm+6mm to 25mm+6mm) and 15 pieces each of 5 types of female-to-female standoffs (6mm to 25mm), totaling 150 standoffs.

Can I buy these MCMASKE standoffs in India?

Why choose this product

Engineered for Electronics Assembly

This kit provides essential M2.5 nylon standoffs, screws, nuts, and washers, specifically designed for mounting PCBs and electronic components. The PA66 nylon material offers excellent electrical insulation, preventing short circuits and protecting sensitive circuits. Its lightweight and anticorrosive properties ensure durability, even in humid Indian environments. The hex design allows for secure tightening with a wrench, and the variety of lengths and types (male-female, female-female) offers maximum flexibility for stacking boards and spacing components in DIY projects, motherboards, and custom builds.

Ideal For DIY Electronics & Makers

This kit is perfect for hobbyists and makers working with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, FPV drones, and other DIY electronics. Its non-conductive nylon material is safer for sensitive circuits than metal alternatives. While suitable for most general electronics assembly, users requiring high-temperature resistance or extreme load-bearing capacity might consider metal standoffs. For standard PCB mounting and component separation, this nylon kit offers a cost-effective and reliable solution.

How to use

Select Standoff Type and Length — Choose the appropriate male-female or female-female standoff based on your required spacing and mounting configuration. Ensure the M2.5 thread size matches your screws and PCB holes.
Mount Standoffs — For male-female standoffs, screw the male end into the threaded hole of one component. For female-female standoffs, use M2.5 screws to attach them to the mounting surface or PCB.
Secure Components — Use the included M2.5 screws and nuts to attach your PCB or other components to the standoffs. Tighten securely with a wrench or screwdriver, ensuring the hex sides provide a firm grip.
