How do I choose the right firmness of therapy putty?

Therapy putty comes in graded resistance levels shown by color, typically ranging from extra-soft for gentle early-stage hand rehabilitation up to firm and extra-firm for advanced grip and finger strengthening. Start with a softer grade if you are recovering from injury or surgery and progress to firmer grades as strength improves; multi-level packs let you advance without buying separately.

Is exercise putty reusable and how do I care for it?

Yes, therapy putty is reusable many times. Knead it back into a ball after each session and store it in its sealed container away from heat and direct sunlight so it retains its resistance and does not dry out. Keep it away from carpet, hair, and fabric since it can pick up debris.

Why choose this product

Designed by a Pioneer in Manual Therapy

Developed by Brian Mulligan, a globally recognized physical therapist, this belt is engineered for his specific Mobilization with Movement (MWM) techniques. It leverages his decades of experience to provide precise joint mobilization, unlike generic straps. The high-quality nylon construction ensures durability for consistent therapeutic use, while the innovative one-handed adjustment mechanism allows for quick, precise tension control during sessions, enhancing treatment efficiency and patient comfort.

Ideal for Targeted Rehabilitation and Grip Strengthening

This belt is best suited for individuals undergoing physical therapy for joint pain, stiffness, or limited mobility, particularly those following Mulligan's MWM protocols. It is also beneficial for athletes seeking to improve joint function post-training or office workers experiencing discomfort from prolonged sitting. Those needing a simple, adjustable strap for manual traction or general stretching will find it effective. However, individuals requiring highly specialized resistance levels for advanced hand strengthening might consider putty or grip trainers instead.

How to use

Position the Belt — Wrap the Lewitools MWM belt around the patient's joint or limb as instructed by a healthcare professional, ensuring the adjustable pad is comfortably positioned for stabilization.
Adjust Tension — Utilize the one-handed adjustment mechanism to tighten the belt, applying the necessary stabilizing force. Ensure it is secure but not overly constricting, allowing for controlled movement.
Perform Movement — Guide the patient through the prescribed physiological movement while maintaining the belt's tension. This dynamic action facilitates joint mobilization, helps improve soft tissue adhesions, and aims to relieve pain.
Release and Store — Once the exercise is complete, use the quick-release buckle to loosen the belt. Store the belt in its original packaging or a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight.
