How do I know which extension tube fits my camera?

Match the adapter to your camera's lens mount exactly. This Fotodiox adapter is specifically for Nikon F-mount cameras and C-Mount lenses. Ensure your camera body has a Nikon F-mount to use this adapter. For other camera mounts, different adapters are required.

Will an extension tube reduce my image quality?

Extension tubes contain no optical glass, so they do not degrade image quality by adding elements. This Fotodiox adapter simply moves the C-Mount lens further from the Nikon F-mount sensor to allow closer focusing for macro work. Image sharpness depends on the lens used and the adapter's precise fit.

Can I use autofocus with this C-Mount to Nikon F adapter?

No, this is a manual adapter. Autofocus, AE metering, and image stabilization functions that rely on electronic communication between the lens and camera body will not work. You must use manual focus and set your camera to 'Manual' or 'Aperture Priority' mode.

What is the benefit of using a C-Mount lens with a Nikon F camera?

Using a C-Mount lens with a Nikon F camera via this adapter allows for creative macro photography and unique visual effects not achievable with standard lenses. It's a way to experiment with vintage optics and achieve close-up shots with specific lenses.

What does 'vignetting is normal' mean for this adapter?

C-Mount lenses were originally designed for smaller sensors. When used on larger Nikon F-mount sensors (like APS-C or full-frame), the image circle projected by the lens may not cover the entire sensor, resulting in darkened corners or edges in your photos, known as vignetting.

About this item

Fotodiox C-Mount Lens to Nikon F-Mount Camera Adapter allows you to mount C-Mount CCTV and cine lenses onto your Nikon F-mount camera body. This adapter is precision-crafted with an all-metal, hardened anodized aluminum construction for durability and high-tolerance fit. It is designed for manual focus and macro photography, enabling closer focusing distances than the lens's native capabilities. Please note that this is a manual adapter; electronic communication for autofocus, AE metering, and image stabilization will not function. Ensure your camera is set to 'Manual' or 'Aperture Priority' mode and enable 'shoot without lens' in camera settings for operation. Vignetting is expected when using C-mount lenses on sensors larger than their intended coverage, such as full-frame or APS-C. Infinity focus is not achievable due to the difference in focal flange distances.

This adapter is ideal for photographers looking to experiment with vintage C-Mount lenses for unique macro effects. The robust construction ensures a secure connection between your lens and camera. While it doesn't support electronic functions, it provides a cost-effective way to explore creative macro possibilities. Reviewers confirm it works as described for specific macro applications.

Imported directly from authorized US retailers and authorized brand partners, this Fotodiox adapter comes with all customs duties and GST pre-paid. Enjoy the benefit of using specialized C-Mount lenses for macro photography with your Nikon F-mount camera. Who It's For vs. Who Should Skip It

This adapter is perfect for photographers and videographers with Nikon F-mount cameras who want to experiment with C-Mount lenses for macro photography, creative effects, or vintage aesthetics. It's ideal for those comfortable with manual focus and exposure settings. Skip this adapter if you require autofocus, automatic exposure metering, or image stabilization, as these electronic functions are not supported. Also, if you need to achieve infinity focus or avoid vignetting on full-frame/APS-C sensors, this adapter is not suitable; consider native lenses or different adapter types.

How to use

Attach Adapter to Camera — Gently screw the Fotodiox C-Mount to Nikon F-Mount adapter onto your Nikon F-mount camera body until it is securely fastened. Ensure the mount aligns correctly.
Mount C-Mount Lens — Screw your C-Mount CCTV or cine lens onto the other end of the adapter. Align the lens mount with the adapter's C-Mount threads and turn until it locks into place.
Configure Camera Settings — Set your Nikon camera to 'Manual' or 'Aperture Priority' mode. Enable the 'shoot without lens' option in your camera's custom settings menu to allow shooting.
Focus and Shoot — Use the lens's manual focus ring to achieve sharp macro shots. Be aware that infinity focus is not possible, and vignetting may occur on larger sensors.
