Audubon Red Bird Call | Hand-Tuned Birchwood & Zinc Metal

• The original Audubon bird call. Recognized by multiple generations of birders and outdoors people, the Audubon Bird Call has been made and tuned by hand in the USA in the same way for over 75 years.
• The bird call's sound is produced by rotating the wooden cylinder against the cast zinc plug. Various bird sounds can be accurately imitated by varying the pressure between the two surfaces while twisting back and forth.
• Originally conceived by songbird hunters in Europe, the bird call attracts birds by creating the illusion that other birds are in the area.
• Be sure to keep the instrument dry; a small amount of the included powdered rosin, used occasionally, will renew the bird call's voice.
• Total length approximately 2.5" x 0.75" wide.

• Prepare the Call — Ensure the bird call is dry. If the sound seems less distinct, apply a small amount of the included powdered rosin to the cast zinc plug or wooden cylinder.
• Mimic Bird Sounds — Hold the bird call firmly. Rotate the wooden cylinder against the cast zinc plug while gently twisting back and forth. Vary the pressure and speed to imitate different bird calls.
• Attract Birds — Listen for responses from nearby birds. The realistic sounds create the illusion of other birds being present, encouraging them to approach your location for observation.
• Maintain for Longevity — After use, store the bird call in a dry place. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture to prevent damage to the wood and metal components, ensuring its voice remains clear.
