• Prepare Your Fabric — Pre-wash your natural fiber fabric (cotton, wool, rayon, silk) to remove any finishes. Keep the fabric damp for best dye absorption. Prepare your workspace by protecting surfaces and wearing gloves.
• Activate and Apply Dye — Add cold tap water to the Tulip dye bottle up to the indicated line. Screw on the cap tightly and shake well until the dye is fully mixed. Apply the dye to the fabric using your desired technique (tie-dye, ombré, dip-dye).
• Set the Color — Allow the dye to sit on the fabric for the time recommended in the instruction guide (typically 6-8 hours or longer for deeper colors). Wrap dyed items in plastic wrap or a plastic bag to keep them damp.
• Rinse and Wash — Rinse the fabric in cold water until the water runs clear. Then, wash the item in hot water with detergent. Dry as usual. Wash dyed items separately for the first few washes to prevent color bleeding.
